Child friendly hotels are a new phenomenon in the United Kingdom. Hoteliers are realising that families would like a child friendly welcome in stylish surroundings, not be forced into Travel Lodges (please don't take that the wrong way - I have stayed in a few - but you know what I mean). Gone are the days that if you have little ones you must sit in a tent or hire a whole villa. Child friendly hotels can offer creche, babysitting services, children's meals, baby listening services to enable you to enjoy a romantic evening meal safe in the knowledge that your cherubs are snoring away.
Hotels offer adjoining rooms, sometimes with one room half price, larger suites for families or family "lodges" - think Center Parcs.
With some companies giving away kids fly free or eat or stay free, business men and women often take their families with them when going on business they extend their stay over the weekend to make the most of it.
Some child friendly hotels offer activities for children so that you can get some romantic time with your husband or wife during the day. Younger ones can be looked after by qualified nannies in creches, older children can be amused with anything from pony trekking to watersports.
